How to cope with hair loss

Look I don't want to overdramatize this and I realise there are far more important things going on in the world right now, but I get DM'd about this a few times a month... and if I can help one person who's worrying about it through a silly thread, perfect!
Firstly I'll acknowledge it... it's kind of crap losing your hair. They say women worry about weight and men worry about hair, and I can see why...
In my case it was bloody annoying. There I was aged 18, getting towards the end of puberty, the weird sweats, the random erections

your voice deciding to shift gear relentlessly and BAM it starts falling out.
In truth I should have seen it coming. My Dad was bald, my grandfather was bald, his father was an egg too... no Critchley has made 30 with a full head of hair for generations.

And initially it bothered me, it bothered me a lot. The hairline slowly creeping back and as if that wasn't bad enough... a patch slowly appearing on top too... I didn't want to look like a monk, no one does... I'm sure even the monks struggle with it.
So initially in an effort to hide it... I grew my hair, I grew it long. It was 2013, and all the girls fancied One Direction... the side sweep was in... and I wanted to join the party.

My advice to anyone losing their hair... don't try to hide it. If you've noticed, everyone else has... no amount of comb over, comb forward, comb any which way is going to help.
Don't buy hair revival products, you are just delaying the inevitable IMO.

Keep it as short as possible (in my case shaved), a lot of people have told me it portrays confidence.
The way I see it, you are winning a race that no one wants to be in... but it's really not a big deal. Hair is hair... some people are short, tall, fat, thin, confident, shy

hairy or bald (in my case weirdly both!) but just own it!
Yes people might take the piss out of you initially, but brush it off... or better take the piss out of them!
It is only hair after all, and everyone will be bald one day!
