Alright, I& #39;m not going to lie - We& #39;ve covered all of the Work League& #39;s forfeits and whilst we are waiting to go through this year& #39;s, we& #39;re handing over to our 3 time champion to give a few tips on how he manages his FPL season.
1. For starters let& #39;s rip this plaster off - Being good at FPL doesn& #39;t make you a football genius. It& #39;s primarily a stats based game. Other factors in play include, but are not limited to, how you interpret the data, your risk appetite and of course luck.
I have played the game for over a decade and used a statistical approach for the last 3, it& #39;s no coincidence that this has coincided with my best 3 finishes.
The results speak for themselves.
A stats based approach is the easiest way to a rank boost over the course of a season.

2. Another thing we need to acknowledge before continuing is that our nice, little, innocent, free to play game is very similar to gambling.
This statement is based on my experiences playing the game and making actual bets.

This won& #39;t shock all of you but the fact that you are not exchanging any money (excluding possibly mini-leagues) doesn& #39;t mean that similar feelings do not occur.
The brain lights up in the same way when your captain scores, team smashes, etc.
Negative feelings are also similar.

Hours on research, talking smack, trying to out do your rivals - All for it to turn to shit.
I& #39;ve been lurking on FPL twitter for years and seen enough on feeling bad in regard to the game for this to not be true.
This is a simplistic take, however awareness helps management.

3. FPL fatigue is a thing. It normally hits me after GW25 just before we get to the exciting final few weeks of the season.
I& #39;m an obsessive, most people in the Work League are as well - That is a long time to be wondering about Pep& #39;s starting XI.
Pace yourself.

Pace yourself.
Accept that not all your GWs will be good and that the following week you will get a chance to go again.
In the meantime go outside, watch a film, touch yourself - Whatever floats your boat.
Switching off will ultimately allow you to enjoy the game long term.

4. Who doesn& #39;t love watching the goals go in on a weekend? I& #39;ve done it plenty, however towards the end of last season I made it a point to avoid any games until the they were over, including the final GW.
I still enjoy sitting down and watching, but ultimately whether I do or don& #39;t, the results are going to be the same.
You have a choice of getting on the roller coaster every single GW.
Skipping out and enjoying a weekend doing something else will aid with the fatigue long term.

5. Own. Your. Bullshit.
This is my favourite.
No one is responsible for the management of your team, your approach to the game or the words that come out of your mouth, except for you.

Be prepared for the eventuality that things may not go your way and telling someone else "well done".
Think Thanos at the end of Endgame - You need to accept when you& #39;ve lost.
At the end of the day competitiveness is what makes the game fun - But it is just a game.

Big thanks to the Mule - The ramblings of a madman were a little more vanilla that I was expecting.
We hope you guys have found some of it useful - At the very least realising that you are to never waste time reading another one of our threads.
Peace!
