Why It Still Matters when People with Comorbidities Die of COVID
1) They wouldn't have died if they didn't have COVID - at least, not yet. If you don't see a meaningful difference between dying at 56 of a heart condition or dying at 75, I don't know what to tell you.
2) When you die of heart disease, you die on your terms surrounded by your family. When you die of COVID that made your heart disease suddenly terminal, you die alone.
People are dying sooner because of COVID, people are dying alone because of COVID, and people are dying who would have otherwise had normal, healthy lives except for COVID.
Controlling this pandemic is not optional.
