might be a bit tmi, but been trying to figure out some sensitive stomach issues as from time to time as ive had bad reactions to certain foods if it’s not homemade (usually).

i know i have some aversion to tomatoes cause of the acidity.

but others leave me scratching my head.
maybe it’s a result of being sensitive to my food allergies, and yet…idk.
like, i had always known i had sensitive stomach issues of a strange sort that many would complain that i wouldn’t try *new* foods or spices and seasonings…when i love trying new things especially when i can eat them, as im allergic to dairy, eggs and mustard (it’s assumed atm).
[CW/TW: food, stomach issues from here on out in this thread]

i recall the year that finally made everyone realize “...maybe it’s smth more” as it was a trip to Disney World and it was the first time i could get allergies accommodated for—so of course, we were overjoyed.
sadly it soured rather quick as i started feeling unwell when i woke the morning of 2nd day—it was assumed since my palate isn’t used to various meals by certain cultures or the cuisine styles…or the fact maybe i had too much and it was too rich.

but i continued to worsen… 😣
it was, i think, by the 3rd day that i couldn’t conceal it any longer but it wouldn’t be until maybe the 4th day my family realized it wasn’t a simple case of a “stomachache”.

by then i had various meals that i would be fine eating then shortly afterwards not at all.
the rest of our 10+ day trip was pretty much ruined to a degree for me as the sick feeling never really went away.

we tried sticking to foods and meals that were familiar for me, it helped…to a degree.
even after returning from that trip, it took MONTHS for me to begin feeling “okay” as my body was just so hyper sensitive if there was anything different.
while now it’s been a few years, ive taken notice of how certain foods affect me, and oddly enough it’s not all the time as sometimes there would be little to no reaction.
i don’t think i have really recovered from that trip, and it was one of the worse experiences i ever had in terms of sensitive stomach issues.
hence why when particular discussions surrounding foods come up, like seasoning + spices reminds me that my body won’t let me enjoy various kinds.

and im always left feeling guilty and bad that im not “exploring” more foods, or “spicing” or “seasoning” up my palate when i can’t.
would be nice if discussions surrounding foods would take into consideration how there are ppl who are limited because of sensitive stomach issues and food allergies and more.

it’s hard, especially when there’s countless health conditions and disabilities this contributes to…
