as a trans person, here& #39;s why the attack helicopter joke is transphobic! https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="✨" title="Funken" aria-label="Emoji: Funken">https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="✨" title="Funken" aria-label="Emoji: Funken">an informative mini-threadhttps://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="✨" title="Funken" aria-label="Emoji: Funken">https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="✨" title="Funken" aria-label="Emoji: Funken"> https://twitter.com/wakeup_BTS/status/1300226608628985858">https://twitter.com/wakeup_BT...
firstly the obvious,, that it& #39;s used to invalidate nonbinary people by inferring that their identity isn& #39;t real (aka, you can& #39;t "be" an attack helicopter, you can& #39;t be nonbinary)
secondly, it mocks xenogenders, which are genders that revolve around concepts or objects rather than male-female-enby. people who id with xenogenders struggle with hate both in and outside of the trans community without the attack helicopter "joke"
thirdly,, a lot of trans people struggle with their identity and accepting themselves. it& #39;s not just "oh I& #39;m a boy/girl/enby now", it can take years to come to terms with your own identity, not to mention a lot of people have internalised transphobia and other barriers to face.
it& #39;s not as simple as "oh I identify as this" in most cases. trans identities are not a joke and shouldn& #39;t be treated as such.
