John Thompson was scheduled to be on American Airlines Flight 77 to Los Angeles on 9/11/2001 until a producer for @jimrome's TV show asked him to push his flight back a day. Big John didn't like the change, but the producer persuaded him. It saved his life.

A decade later, after John Thompson revealed that story on Rome's radio show, Rome surprised him by putting the producer, Danny Schwartz, on the air with him. I'll never forget what Big John said to him.

"Let me tell you something," Thompson said to Schwartz. "If you’re ever in Washington, D.C., you look me up. I was antagonistic in those days, and how you handled it saved my life, and I appreciate that.”
