Half of these are done with heavy VFX work/ which I guess is also technically animation. If anything ain’t the biggest flaws of these films actually with the writing? https://twitter.com/danny8bit/status/1300141019200020480
The biggest crimes in the live action Disney films is really just over correcting what they perceive were the “wrongs” in the past films.

Belle didn’t need a girl boss moment, we already know that she’s resourceful and smart stop pandering to me arghhhhhhhh
I’m predicting that the new little mermaid adaptation, someone is going to go, “oh honey don’t sacrifice yourself for a man you barely met” to Ariel and Ariel is not going to end up with Eric and she’s going to set up a store selling seashells or something
I’m probably the only person in my family/ friend circle who absolutely hated beauty and the beast and Lindsey Ellis’s analysis of the film is just *chef kiss*
Emma Watson is most ill suited belle ever I can’t believe that they would not have someone dub over her singing why the auto tune on my musical arghhshdhshjdkekfjkakskf
The only thing that kinda bugs me about live-action is that being stuck to the boundaries of reality (+ budget ) scenes just look underwhelming compared to their animated equivalent. Like just compare the two Prince Ali scene in the new and old films.
But I think that it’s the fault of a director’s treatment? Like the streets and the performers just look so empty... in these wide shots. Why is Will Smith genie singing about Prince Ali we don’t get a shot of Aladdin but we still linger on genie. What is happening??
I’m guessing that with animation, everyone have to work in tandem to get the exact right shots. But you don’t get that luxury in life action so a lot is left to imagination. If anything I’m sure the CGI/ VFX team have to deal with countless “we’ll fix it in post”esque bad shots
All I’m saying that there a lot of love and craft missing from the life-action adaptions but I don’t think for a second that due to the work of cgi and VFX artists.
Anyways thanks for joining me in my rant, I’ll delete this thread in about an hour.
