Me: *emerges from the curtains*

Now that everyone's on board with the cognitive functions let's talk about your personality type's EGO, SHADOW, SUBCONSCIOUS mode and SUPEREGO mode.

Me: *picking up a microphone*

Personality tests are not 100% reliable and accurate (*looks at 16PERSONALITIES). One reason for this is that people may answer questions during a period of stress, in which they are manifesting sides of themselves which are normally suppressed.
Big Brain Daddy Carl Jung discovered the 4 sides of the mind. People are more than just themSELVES. There is a whole other complex system of others within YOU.

We have additional facets beyond our egos and shadows: the Aspirational self (or Subconscious) and the Superego.
The ego is our “main” personality type – often the one with which we identify the most. It is the SELF.

Our shadow or unconscious type is one which we may slip into during periods of prolonged and/or intense stress.

Two sides of your self? Amazed? There's more. Nya~
Our subconscious or aspirational self is linked with the inferior function of the ego.

For example: As an INTP my stacks read Ti-Ne-Si-Fe

Inverted it reads: Fe-Si-Ne-Ti which gives you the stacks for ESFJ :3 meow meow
The subconscious or aspirational type represents the type of person we aspire to be- for others it is what we are hyperconscious of due to our inferior function. For me that's inferior Fe.

"Will I ever be kind enough?" thoughts in my head is a manifestation of the subconscious.
Like the shadow, the SUPEREGO is a part of ourselves which we have often suppressed, and which we tend to dislike and resist recognizing in ourselves.

The INTP superego is ISFP.

I want to "perform"??? Where? I want an audience? How?

The SELF sometimes denies the SUPEREGO.
"Why is it important to understand and also ACKNOWLEDGE these aspects of your self?" - you ask me in a trembling voice.

"Don't you want to understand the tempest you have within you?"- I answer back, picking you up by the hand *I am wearing surgical gloves*
Jung did not try to run from the importance of conflict to human psychology; he saw it as inherent and necessary for growth.

The end goal is INDIVIDUATION: the quest for wholeness that the human psyche invariably undertakes.
。.。:+*That's all for now~

I've only barely scratched the surface of how to delve deeper into the types, into yourself, into your wonderful and ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES!

May you all flourish.*+:。.。
