Random thought: the ongoing Swedish bullshit about how you’re only a risk if you “have symptoms” is a extension of healthism in addition to outdated information.
By that logic, I’ve been dangerous since this started, because I have a neverending sinus inflammation that comes and goes.
My nose is always somewhat clogged, running funny colors on the regular, causing post-nasal drip that will make me cough.
None of it means anything.
So what? I should isolate (I do anyway but for the sake of argument) while “healthy” people can just... go have parties and vernissages and café meetings?
Because I have a chronic condition?
YO I HAVE QUESTIONS HERE.
Swedish society is already health-obsessed - and profoundly fat-hating as a result.
Being a gym rat who chugs protein shakes is... the normal for a lot of people.
A lot of food marketing is around healthiness.
(Arguably it explains some of the disastrous cake situation)
Throw a pandemic and bad public advice in and you’ll get a lot of “healthy white people” patting themselves on the back for being healthy.
Meanwhile there’s a Swedish long hauler in a community I’m in and she’s constantly fuming.
As for what healthism is, go read Kivan’s explainer and toss him some cash on your way out: https://twitter.com/kivanbay/status/1100386982805434374
The summary of the original definition is here and YOP THAT’S SWEDISH CULTURE RIGHT THERE. https://twitter.com/kivanbay/status/1100425331750535170
