I woke up to this absolute gem and it reminded me that one of my very first experiences in the DA fandom was working on an idea called "Alistair's Epic Cheese Quest" with some other modders. If you could find this amusing, follow me into the thread plis. https://twitter.com/MagoEmplumado/status/1300313545217695744?s=20
The whole thing was planned to start when you encounter a depresssed cow standing on the edge of a cliff in Redcliffe.
Alistair was then supposed to approach her very carefully and talking soothing nonsense.
Alistair would then succeed in coaxing the cow back from the abyss and the player would be treated to this epic camerwork 😂
I say cow, but the in-game model is very much a bull.
Meaning that one of my fellow modders spent hours upon hours retexturing and redesigning an udder.
At the conclusion of the cutscene, the party would be moving, while Alistair and the cow share a last goodbye. And you'd think that would be that.
But you'd be wrong because the next time you travel to camp, you'd discover that the cow has followed you. Moreover, you can't see Alistair anywhere near the campire? Where is he?
The player would then discover a cave a little way from the party camp.
Only to discover that Alistair has secretly been making cheese!
*cue dramatic music*
The same unfortunate person who spent endless hours sculpting a plausible udder also made this cheese shield.
At the conclusion of this cutscene (after many, many closeup shots of Alistair wielding his hammer while barechested), the cheese shield would then appear in your inventory.
I'm not saying it was the worst mod idea in the world... but I wouldn't exactly call it my best work 😂

At least we'll always have this screenshot ❤️🧀❤️
