why one direction is criminally underrated, despite being the greatest band of all time: a necessary thread 
1. one direction wasn't taken seriously as a musical band just because of their predominantly female fanbase. i'm sorry but this makes no sense. the fanbase of an artist doesn't, in any way, lessen the quality of the artist's music. if this isn't internalised misogny idk what is.
2. one direction is still perceived as a bubblegum pop band and got disregarded of how they grew from that genre because people are still stuck in the 2011-12 'up all night' era. if you listened to their albums in order from UAN to MITAM, you'll see how they matured musically.
3. the industry as well as the audience judged one direction's music solely on the basis of their singles. without listening to their albums completely, people were quick to label them as a 'stupid pop band that's famous only because of crazy teenage girls' which is WRONG.
4. the timing of their albums 'up all night' and 'take me home' was perfect, since they were initial albums. more than this, everything about you, stole my heart, moments, rock me, last first kiss, over again, tdkau, summer love, i would, truly madly deeply ARE superior.
5. one direction grew out of their 'bubblegum pop' phase ever since they released 'midnight memories'. they started writing their own songs. this changed the course of their music and paved way for their punk-ish rock genre. right now, happily, strong, lwl, btw are SUPERIOR.
6. one direction outdid themselves when they released FOUR (with an underline). they matured as songwriters and this album was a TOTAL serve. ready to run, wdbhg, right now, 18, fireproof, girl almighty, stockholm syndrome, clouds, fool's gold, no control are SUPERIOR.
7. 'Made in the AM' is thought of as the album 'without zayn'. yes, zayn's voice added a lot to their music and this album didn't have that, which is also a reason why MITAM was discredited. MITAM was a versatile album and it's very prominent that the boys matured in every way.+
louis and niall finally got to prove their beautiful vocal abilites. liam and harry expanded theirs. what a feeling, infinity, walking in the wind, wolves, lwd, iicf, temporary fix, AM are SUPERIOR. not to mention, history and iwwyas were proper goodbye (hiatus) songs.+
i genuinely think that MITAM deserved a #1 just like the other albums. MITAM WAS ROBBED. one direction really gave us a beautiful final album. it is undeniable that MITAM, by far, is critically, musically, vocally, lyrically, one direction's BEST album. periodt.
8. not only did one direction give us 5 IMMACULATE studio albums, their live performances were out of the world. they had PERFECT live vocals and harmonies; they had EXCELLENT stage presence. they wooed the crowd simply with their power vocals, stage presence and ofc their goof.
one direction was constantly discredited, despite being popular. they never got the appreciation and recognition their music deserved. 5 albums in 5 years is godly (they were overworked ffs #fucksyco our babies deserved so much better :/). now stream UAN, TMH, MM, FOUR and MITAM.
in conclusion, one direction, the biggest boyband of all time, were EXCEPTIONAL artists but their music deserved much, MUCH better. i will not be accepting any constructive criticism bye.
