jisoo’s mistreatment - a long but necessary thread

DISCLAIMER 1/3 - i did not make this with any intention to shame or belittle the other pinks or selena gomez in any way. they are not in charge of the line distribution or promotions.

DISCLAIMER 2/3 - i am also not saying the other pinks are contributing to this or aren’t mistreated themselves. all the members of blackpink are mistreated in one way or another, and they should in no way be put against eachother.

DISCLAIMER 3/3 - obviously, jisoo is my bias and has been since i started stanning blackpink. it’s alright to have a bias of course, but please don’t try to insert your bias’s mistreatment on this thread. this is about jisoo.

jisoo has always been known as the main vocalist and visual of the group. as one of the main vocalists, it’s expected that jisoo would be able to sing a lot or at least a decent amount in most, if not all, songs. but that’s not the case here.

there’s hundreds of videos showing the line distributions in blackpink’s songs. and in almost every single song, jisoo has the least amount of lines. she, the lead vocalist, has never ONCE gotten the most lines in a song.

of course, someone is always going to have the least lines in a song. it’s not like everyone will have the same exact amount of lines. but jisoo ALWAYS gets the least/second least, there is no way this is just a coincidence.

this was the most obvious in ice cream, the most recent song. jisoo only had TWO LINES. only eight seconds in the song were dedicated to jisoo, the MAIN VOCALIST, singing. selena gomez, the FEATURE in the song, had almost forty seconds worth of lines. something is NOT right here.

and yes, jisoo is not 100% confident in her english speaking. we don’t know how she felt about her only lines in the song. but she clearly did amazing, and is just as good as the other girls at english. so there’s absolutely no reason she should have this amount of lines.

the same thing happened in sour candy and kiss and make up as well. jisoo had WAY less lines than anyone else. it makes sense that dua lipa and lady gaga had more lines than blackpink though, because it was their songs. ...

... but for the feature of a blackpink song to have more lines than one of the members in blackpink is just crazy to me. jisoo possibly taking some of selena’s lines in performances does NOT make up for it or excuse it.

and this isn’t only about ice cream. jisoo has gotten the least amount of lines in ELEVEN out of SEVENTEEN songs. she’s only gotten the second most amount of lines ONCE. she has NEVER, as a LEAD VOCALIST, gotten the most amount of lines.

now you might be thinking - even if jisoo is mistreated as a vocalist, at least she’s the main visual, right? as the main visual, jisoo is advertised the least out of the four girls. she is always left out from promotions and sponsorships.

remember when the hylt teasers were first released? on yg’s official instagram, they did NOT plan on promoting or even POSTING jisoo’s teasers. they only redid the entire thing because sooyas and blinks complained.

when the adidas posters for blackpink were released online and in stores, everyone had multiple solo pictures except jisoo. her instagram was full of promotion for adidas, and on the adidas website, the promotion for blackpink were pictures jisoo was not included in.
