My #xicheng fic threads, based on Sha Po Lang (SPL) by Priest, where Jiang Wanyin is an acclaimed General and Lan Xichen is a Prince.

This is set in a warring period with Barbarians and the West, and there's also inner turmoil in the country (Great Liang),

because the Emperor is suspicious of where Jiang Wanyin's loyalties lie. An old conspiracy robbed Jiang Wanyin of his sight and hearing with poison, and he uses a monocle (liuli glass) for normal days, or drinks medicine to regain the use of his sight and hearing periodically.

The effective period of the medicine decreases the more he uses it.

Meanwhile Lan Xichen is a Prince of Great Liang, but he is poisoned with the "Bone of Impurity" that will make him lose his mind to insanity in the near future. There's no cure, but JWY's presence helps curb it.
