i really like this interaction, namely the choices that the game gives you.
let’s start with futaba’s line herself: she wakes up after her awakening, having collapsed due to overwhelming exhaustion.

a large part of it is *also* due to sensory overload, being neurodivergent. especially given that accepting one’s shadow to become a persona, which is more blatantly shown in her palace (as well as, the entirety of P4) is largely due to major growths in character, a purely =>
mental process. (this as well as the fact that her trauma had re-surfaced, but in a way that forced her to completely change her understanding of it, something that had completely dominated her life for the past two years.)
so the first thing she does is walk to leblanc, =>
so the first thing she does is walk to leblanc, =>
something she has never done before. given her circumstances, this takes a lot of focus. this is met with Sojiro acting surprised and instantly, he becomes really emotional, for obvious reasons. futaba’s responses are pretty short, thinks like “it’s cold, you can’t sell this” =>
or “i walked,” because neurodivergent people tend to struggle with reading others’ emotions (which, once Sojiro spells it out, she quickly apologizes for worrying him). once the moment passes, she has a pause, before noting out loud (which, at least in my experience, can also =>
be a ND tick) that she feels like she’s forgetting something. again, another struggle with neurodiversity. (this is also more impactful in Royal: a couple weeks prior, Maruki asks Joker a question in class while discussing long-term and short-term memory. in it, it’s mentioned =>
that, in short, memory can be improved through 1) repetition, or 2) when information is organized while sleeping. and what exactly has futaba been doing for potentially days-weeks until now?)
all that said: now for the actual dialog options themselves.
option 1: “Medjed?”
this one shows an understanding of the fact that futaba is ND, as joker/the player likely picked up on the fact during Sojiro’s introduction of her, as a lot of things pretty clearly point to it. =>

in option 1, joker shows an understanding of this, and decides to be patient, kindly reminding futaba of her promise.
which, if you pick this, she has an “oh! that’s it.” moment and it makes me :)

option 2: “Y’know, the cleanse.”
this one shows a bit of overlap with 1, but it’s in a more playful tone. in futaba’s case, she quickly reminds herself of Medjed. this could be easy misinterpreted due to nd, but considering that she doesn’t, i’d like to imagine that this is a =>

sign of her newfound trust in joker, not even thinking of possible malice from him after he and the gang saved her in the best way possible.
I won’t be talking much on her reaction to these now, because 2 and 3 are the same, which is already similar to 1

option 3: “We waited for you...”
now, one thing is important to contextualize for a couple other things in this thread. having a sense of urgency is understandable here, considering the “stakes” of medjed here. that said, as shown by the first two, there are multiple ways =>

to respond to this situation. obviously, the most patient is the correct one here, given that the person in question is ND. but the third option strikes me as.. weird. and i like that it’s here. in having this option, it showcases a more casual ableism people generally have =>
towards ND people. (while I don’t like the option, I do like that it’s here, basically) i feel as though this is here for people not understanding futaba’s neurodivergence, or maybe a joker that didn’t pick up on it, or isn’t knowledgeable on the subject, you know?
here& #39;s a video of the interaction, in which i picked the first option.
particularly what sells it for me is the "is that bad?" because, well. futaba genuinely cannot tell.
honorable mention to "uh.. i walked." she feels as though it& #39;s normal, and doesn& #39;t understand otherwise.

now for some bonus points.
here& #39;s a clip almost immediately after the scene from before
when asked to half-ass something, her response is "Nope, I& #39;m gonna be relentless."
this is likely ocd, another nd trait. if she& #39;s going to do something, she has to do it all the way.

here, we see two things:
futaba, hyperfixating on her current task, of which aligns with one of her biggest passions (special interest?). i don& #39;t think this one needs too much explaining.

lack of feedback. naturally, morgana doesn& #39;t fully understand humans. he especially wouldn& #39;t understand autism, which i think is important here, as shown with how quickly he loses patience. which, while with good intentions, (see; what i mentioned earlier about a sense of =>
urgency about medjed) is rooted in ableism, even if he doesn& #39;t realize or understand.
note: this isn& #39;t to shit on morgana. this is an extension of what i said earlier, about option 3.
which lets me wrap up my thoughts on this and of futaba as a whole, to an extent.

futaba is absolutely one of my favorite characters of all time, let alone persona. her experiences with neurodivergence match mine almost 1:1, which is big, given the history of things like adhd and autism, considering that she& #39;s a girl (no less, one written by ATLUS)
seeing representation of things like this makes me incredibly happy. it makes me feel seen, especially in a positive light, for so many things that shape such a huge part of who i am as a person. having representation like this makes me feel more, accepted i guess?
the phantom thieves being as accepting of her as they are help a lot with this.
i& #39;m bad at outros but i absolutely adore this character for so many reasons, and honestly i& #39;ll never let the "futaba fan" lot take that from me
i may be forgetting something, so unless i am:
