Sad to hear of another tragic loss in the #wx community. Mental health is complex and the #wx community has significant strides to make to adequately make space for people coping with mental illness. It can feel alienating and difficult to try and express yourself.

Not everyone can gracefully articulate themselves in crisis. Not everyone can put on a brave face and struggle privately and be ok. Be gentle and check on people who seem to be having a hard time. It’s not always obvious. We can be storm shelters for others.

What is a storm shelter? It is a place of safety and refuge when danger threatens. Mental storms come, too, and when they do it is important for people to know they have somewhere to take refuge. The more support they have, both interpersonal and professional, the better they are
