CONTEMPT OF COURT CASE AGAINST PRASHANT BHUSHAN:

Supreme Court Bench headed by Justice Arun Mishra will pronounce its verdict today on punishment for Bhushan in the contempt case.

On August 25, the Court had reserved its verdict on quantum of punishment after Bhushan reiterated his position of not tendering an apology for the tweets that he was held to be in contempt for.

Dhavan once again reiterated that Bhushan would not retract his statement or apologise, as AG Venugopal urged the Court to let Bhushan off with a warning.

Attorney General for India KK Venugopal had urged the Court to let Bhushan off with a reprimand.

Senior Counsel Rajeev Dhavan, who argued for Bhushan, urged the Court not to "not make him a martyr" by sending him to prison.
