The discourse around Ad*le is very interesting. Let’s just say that many of us look the other way, tend to extend grace and be more lenient when it comes to celebrities we like. Which can put us at odds with our philosophies if we let it. Willful cognitive dissonance.

I know for a fact that any other white woman would have gotten more heat from the same people cracking jokes. We also saw it happen with Tom Hanks’ son.

My only issue as I’ve said countless times: black people jubilating and being enamored when non-black people (especially white) play dress up with our aesthetics, cultures, accents, eat our foods and listen to our music isn’t a good look.
