Today (Aug 31), I have lost a total of 10kgs from July 11, a day before I was admitted into hospital for a minor stroke caused by high blood pressure. My recovery has gone well, BP has been stable (typically 100/70). I exercise daily and diligently followed a clean eating diet!
On my mild stroke, I’m very, very fortunate to not have gotten a worse condition. Most people have speech problems or can’t walk. I had less than that, and now I just have a bit of numbness on my right limbs, but it doesn’t affect my movement.
The whole episode is a huge wake up call for me, who never bothered to monitor my health and blood pressure. I could have suffered way, way worse, but I didn’t. Ever grateful. And the shock was enough for me. Turn over a new leaf, now or never.
So yes, it has been about 50 days since I’ve had:
Chocolate
Ice-cream
Fried chicken
Kulit ayam!
Any meal with gravy, which means curry, masak kicap, masak merah, tom yam, etc. Never had since.
Sauce - chilli, mayonnaise, kicap etc
Alcohol, oh you bet

And tbh, I’m really fine!
So, I’m not the kind of guy to preach about health as I’m totally the worst role model for that! But if I just may - have a blood pressure machine at home and regularly check, it’s harmless. Don’t be me who went all 210/130 at a hospital’s emergency ward.
And if you can’t survive without eating your favourite Malaysian delicacies (Nope, have not eaten Nasi Lemak over 50 days now), don’t get to this position I went in. Keep your blood pressure normal, watch for obesity, diabetes etc too.
So this is me last Saturday! (Pix in profile picture is before I got sick). There's so many favourite foods I can't eat anymore, but am I glad I could still eat @NandosMY with a slight variation to my dish.

Chicken Butterfly (it's all breast)
Lemon & Herb
Two side salad!
