Hey hey hi just a few quick thoughts I wanted to get out
TW: weight, weight loss

Thread 1/x
I have not lost any weight since like, the first week of Spriglet’s life when all of the fluids are leaving your bod. I recently asked my doctor about it.
For context, I’m exclusively breastfeeding Spriglet. ( #fedisbest)
I asked my doctor about weight loss and she said they usually expect postpartum women to be back to their pre pregnancy weight by 6 months. But they also recommend exclusively breastfeeding for 6 months too.
I specifically asked my doctor how I can eat enough to make sure my milk production is optimal but not enough that I stay in a calorie deficit to lose weight.
This seems impossible to me and I’ve been really struggling with it.
She said, “Eat healthy foods and exercise when you can.”
Reader, that is not an answer to my question. It’s also not helpful or new information.
To add some context: my son eats every 2-3 hours, 24 hours a day. He also has GERD, which means for 20-30 minutes after feeding, I have to hold him upright. So every ~2.5 hours, 30-45 minutes is taken up just feeding my son. That includes overnight.
That’s just FEEDING. That doesn’t include changing his diaper, putting him to bed, getting him dressed, playing with him, reading to him, doing developmentally stimulating activities like tummy time, etc.
So now I need to add healthy food prep/cooking for me and EXERCISE.
This thread is just to say:
1. People who have babies, women especially, have so much ducking pressure on them all the time.
2. I’m so tired.
3. I still don’t fucking know how to lose weight while breastfeeding.
