As the Massachusetts primary comes to a close in two days, these are my closing thoughts.

I will forever be incredibly proud of supporting Joe Kennedy for Senate. For over a year I’ve been trying to study poverty factors among POC in Massachusetts, specially Chelsea and Boston.
During the Coronavirus pandemic, I saw Joe show up, listen and ask what he and the campaign could do for struggling communities in the Commonwealth, that’s when I confirmed I was on the right side of this fight.
I have tremendous respect for Ed Markey, but this race is just not about him. Joe not only representa the future of the Party and the Commonwealth but brings to the table a style of politics Ed simply does not.
Massachusetts has rooted problems of income and racial inequality and Ed has not done enough to tackle them. Joe knows this communities, I have seen it with my own eyes and know that as a Senator he’s going to fight like hell to make sure they have a seat on the table.
On PROMESA, the majority of elected officials and citizens on the island supported that bill. I thank the Senator for voting against it, but I just can’t prosecute someone for voting how the people asked him to do. Especially when Ed has done nothing to address PR’s issues.
Massachusetts has two great progressives on the ballot, an ally and a champion. Joe has been a champion for mental health, Trans Rights and healthcare in the House. And he will do it again, on immigration, inequality and equality on the Senate.
I know this isn’t the Twitter Popular opinion, but I wouldn’t support him if I didn’t feel its the right one. Vote Joe Kennedy on September 1st for U.S Senator.
