This is vital for us Armenian Americans to remember. Our whiteness may be situational and conditional, but it absolutely was first bestowed on us as an act of anti-Black racism.

This has a couple of implications. One, the truth is white racists will chuck ethnic Armenians over the edge the minute we stop being convenient to them or their anti-Black, anti-Latinx, etc. bigotry.

And two, even though we carry historical trauma, we benefit from white racism.

So it& #39;s 100% on us to recognize how we& #39;ve benefited, and especially *why* we& #39;ve benefited from white racism. It sure wasn& #39;t because of altruism.

The people who stoke up racism and bigotry are not our allies They are not our friends. They never have been. And they never will be.
