1) As we get closer to #LeavingCert Results & #CAO Offers, I would just like to give this little pearl of whimsical wisdom. LC 2020 - you guys had a tough deal from the beginning of the #COVID pandemic and with predictive grading for some this may mean disaster for some success.

2) But Note that no #LeavingCert cert or exam can ever place on you any label or fate onto you! There are multiple ways to get into any path you believe you belong in! Back in 2012 I remember being Angry at my LC points thinking this was it but I was a Nieve! Life is funny !

3) Sometimes the most #precarious route in life bears sweeter fruit! I knew from a very early point I wanted to be a Medical Doctor of Some form! LC didn't go as planned so! I present my crazy plan! which was backed by love from others, strength and positive energy from all!

4) But nonetheless, I was told by academics that I would never make it, I wasn't "smart enough", Maybe such an academic footing wasn't suited for my academic standard. Well I showed them! So Never Giver UP !

5) Some teachers knew I had it in me but I needed to Access the power in some way (Thanks to Chemistry, Music, English and Debating teachers @ThereseGlennon )
So I went and did a #PLC &worked in a hospital, caring for patients. That led to a scholarship into #DCU (BSc. )

6) Then that led to my love of Statistics and Epidemiology - Next step was an #MPH @UCD (Master of Public Health), I kept trying, applied to medicine as a mature student, Waitlisted and didn't get in...Persistence is key in life! Worked in Insurance for a While, (Shudders)

7) I jumped into Research at UCD and was working with amazing Doctors and Applied again to Med school and you know what I got in! So to the people who said I couldn't, I Now have HCA, BSc.BHS, MPH & FRSPH behind my name for my determination-I medical school at @RCSI_Irl

8) I find it easy thanks to my large bank of knowledge, & I am a working Epidemic scientist helping to track&trace COVID. you Can EAT your Cake & Have it! You just need to ignore the negative take on the positive&apply yourself! #BeYou

9) Make it your life's work to show ppl they were wrong & Smile all the way! Knowing that you are following your dreams regardless of how many points you get in your LC! It means nada in your future so Chill! The Door may be shut but you can always break a window into your dreams

Final - Students look after yourself - your #mentalhealth and your #physicalhealth! I wish you all luck but remember this is not a rate-determining step (Chem joke) but just a little spot of your life! Keep you head up high and smile! Fate will always smile back Promise!
