Hello, everyone. Meet Pasha.
I didn’t think I would get her today. But I was first in line at the shelter, and she was one of two kittens I wanted to meet. Her sister was friendly and cuddly, but this one?

She started purring as soon as she was set down next to me.
She played around, crawled behind me, put her paws on my chest, climbed out onto my legs, and eventually curled up in my lap in a little ball.
In short, she was everything I’ve been looking for since I started trying to get a cat. After about 15 minutes with her, I knew I wouldn’t find another chance like this.

And I finally told a cat, “I’m going to take you home.”
She’s been living in my bathroom for about an hour and a half now, playing with her toys and all that. I’m giving her time alone and time with me, so she can get used to being here.

She still purrs all the time when she’s near me.
I am, I admit, kind of scared about this whole thing. I don’t know how to be a cat dad. I don’t know if I’ll get used to the mess she’s already making. And I don’t know how to get her to use a scratching post. This is all weird and sudden.

And she just climbed onto my toilet.
But this is my life now. Me and this tiny purring ball of fur.

I wonder how it’s going to go.
