I think it's time to start planning for what happens in November regardless of who wins the presidential election. What steps can you take right now toward safety for you and your neighbors as violence escalates?
Things like exchanging contact info with the people on your street, talking to friends about their fears, making plans to escort people to and from work if needed, refreshing any plans you made to help people get groceries and meds during lockdown
I would also be a bad NET team lead if I didn't tell you to make sure you have food and water and first aid supplies, to the best of your ability to stock up. Our ability to respond to natural disasters is already greatly impacted by the pandemic.
One other thing: as has been the case for a while, some people are going to find that safety means leaving, and others will have reasons to stay. We can support each other in doing both of these things, there's no one right option.
