i love that we’re seeing etiquette be developed in real-time now that we threw ourselves into a video-calling future. we know that, if you have a dog and have regular meetings with a specific set of people, it’s rude not to show us your dog.

but also shit like:
- video on is more formal/polite, so if this meeting could have been an email like hell i’m turning on my shit.
- video on is demanding. if it’s a 9AM meeting, fuck you i’m working from bed and my video is off.

- if you hear a child or pet in the background accidentally: shut the fuck up, we’re all doing our best, bro.
- if it’s an “all hands” kinda meeting with execs, i’m sorry but i’m gonna watch their video to see how rich people live. you don’t want that, pay your employees more.
