i swear i’m gonna start to be an advocate for pcos. this shit really does damage on your body especially when you let it run ramped like i’ve been doing for so long. it makes me sad that people with this condition can feel so helpless bc doctors don’t know pretty much anything-
about it unless you see someone who specializes in it. but not everyone has access to specialists! and the whole “lose weight” prescription they give you is SO not helpful considering pcos makes it damn near impossible to lose weight unless you know how to navigate it properly.
secret: it’s food!! the food you eat is 100% directly involved in every one of your symptoms. the person who set up the challenge i’m currently doing did her research and is doing the lord’s work of helping other people help themselves. obviously exercising is something we all-
should be doing on some level of however it works for us individually (i know other disabilities can hinder exercise) but food is most of it. and eating the right foods can help with most symptoms. and sometimes all you need is the energy to be able to finally start exercising.
here is a chart for foods you can start incorporating in your diet to help with pcos!! i love that there’s so much on this list bc everyone’s budget (and taste) is different. i truly don’t even consider this as a diet-it’s just changing how you eat.
counting calories is so outdated especially bc everyone’s body is different. eating anti-inflammatory foods and foods with a low glycemic index is the best first step for pcos. and i hope this thread reaches whoever it needs to bc i know there’s so many who suffer in silence-
and who feel helpless when exercising and portion control isn’t helping them lose weight.
i suffer from weight related issues, altruism, irregular periods, and hormonal acne and can’t wait to see those symptoms start to ease up as my journey goes on. i am truly motivated to kick PCOS’ ass and would love to go through the motions with whomever needs someone with-
similar experiences to get themselves started. my DMs are always open!! sometimes i suck at responding but i always will!!
