It’s not right we just shrug off murder now with, “Welp, they deserved it.”

That is how Trump wore us down. That is his most insidious trick.

Lack of empathy and the devaluing of life has been normalized. Don’t let it be. Be angry, but death isn’t a fucking “whatever.”

These aren’t just nameless people, they’re human lives and souls with families and they’re not just a headline. Disagree with them, hate them, but Jesus when we make murder just another part of this and we accept it we step way over a line.

I’m not saying to stop and change your views, though I may intensely disagree with you. Just please, don’t shrug off death. Don’t make it — or let the media — make it about a headline and then gone from memory.

Empathy is not a weakness. Don’t let anyone take that from you.
