Just saw a recent thread where an editor said a book about a QPOC written by a white queer author is Own Voices, and y'all don't be paying attention do y'all.

You seriously only hold on to the information about representation that suits your needs.
What's wild is this thread is about "an editors responsibility when it comes to representation and own voices," and talks about how editors kinda aren't responsible and rep from anywhere is technically okay, right?
And what's REALLY wild is this thread is from the editor that acquired the recently announced fire knife dancer book by a white author.

Honestly, it feels like that thread was an attempt to preemptively provide cushion against any pushback the book might receive. It's shady.
