Have had a few people ask me for my not-so expert thoughts on Spurs' #FPL assets for the coming season, especially given the on-paper good run we've got.

I've put my all my drawn out thoughts here in as much detail as I can be bothered to go into 👇

Hope its useful 👍
Firstly some general thoughts on those opening 8 fixtures. Some of them are far from as juicy as the #FPL FDR makes them out to be

Newcastle, WHU, Burnley and possibly WBA will all sit deep against us and not allow us to counter easily. Don't think these are good captaincy games
As for the others:

EVE (H) - tough game tho hard to know what Everton will turn up

SOU (A) - very tricky opponents who beat us there last season, end 19/20 on 🔥

MUN (A) - very bad fixture. Had great record v the other top 6 sides last season

BHA (H) - famously unpredictable
Harry Kane

🤑 £10.5m
✅ PPG 19/20: 5.4

🗣 IMO:

Better value strikers than him around. Not convinced he has the ceiling of players like Werner/Martial as we're less progressive when we take the lead. Will also play plenty of midweek games which may bog us down early on

#FPL
Heung Min Son

🤑 £9m
✅ PPG 19/20: 5.6

🗣 IMO:

Our best attacking option at a nice price. But would be cautious, if we stick with this lop-sided 4231 system w/ Davies more reserved he'll have to hold his width quite a lot. May make him anonymous + inconsistent at times

#FPL
Dele Alli

🤑 £8m
✅ PPG 19/20: 4.7

🗣 IMO:

Wait and see. If he regularly starts as number 10 he could fire again like he did when Jose came in. But wouldn't be certain he starts there (GLC instead?) and his erratic last 2 years puts me off. Hopefully will be great value

#FPL
Lucas Moura

🤑 £7m
✅ PPG 19/20: 2.9

🗣 IMO:

No
Steven Bergwijn

🤑 £7.5m
✅ PPG 19/20: 3.1

🗣 IMO:

No, if he was playing as regularly as I think he should be, he would be an option. But Jose prefers Lucas unfortunately
Hugo Lloris

🤑 £5.5m
✅ PPG 19/20: 4.7

🗣 IMO:

May well be the top scoring GK this season. Jose's approach means we allow plenty of shots which means Hugo gets a lot of saves (great shot stopper). Good BPS prospects and should get more CSs than last year. Price the issue

#FPL
Matt Doherty 🐺👋

🤑 £6m
✅ PPG 19/20: 4.6

🗣 IMO:

Was a better option at Wolves. We'll get similar CSs, but expect him to be told to hold his width similar to Aurier had to, so expect fewer goals but maybe slightly more assists. Also not sure how he'll adapt to a back 4

#FPL
Doherty's xG90 vs xA90 last season was:

0.21 v 0.07

And his shots per 90 vs KP per 90 was:

1.08 v 0.67

Aurier's was:

0.02 v 0.12
&
0.43 v 1.09

As said before, would expect Doherty's xG90 to decline and xA90 to rise a little with a slight change in role for our system

#FPL
Eric Dier vs Ben Davies

🤑 Both £5.0m
✅ PPG 19/20 1.9 vs 2.3

🗣 IMO:

The most common and most boring debate on #FPL Twitter.

Both pretty average players.
Both will get similar points.
Both will start most games.
Just prefer Dier as he'll get decent BPS for getting his massive head on loads of crosses and shots.

Also some goal threat from corners now Eriksen isn't here to hit the 1st man every time 🤬

Davies will get the odd assist when he's allowed to push on.

Both okay picks

#FPL
Others:

Hojbjerg (£5m) - too much for bench fodder. Won't get many returns but has got forward occasionally in friendlies. Soucek way better option

Lamela (£6m) - 🤨

Sessegnon (£5m) - will not play. Good for 'Europa League group stage' fantasy I imagine

#FPL
Alderweireld + Sanchez (£5.5m) - both more £££ than Dier and less certain to start. Big no

Lo Celso (£7m) - really good player but not an #FPL option at that price at all

Hope this [({|tHrEaD|})] has been at least somewhat helpful and interesting!

Good luck for the season 😁👌
