I LOVED the poetry @ashemusic just posted and it reminded me of something I wrote tho they're very different but can you please give me a little feedback if you can. (And retweet if you want bcs I hope Ashe sees this) +
I loved the touch of water
As they dripped through my fingers,
Cool on my skin.
I loved watching the droplets of rain
Falling like scattered crystals,
Until they melt on the soil.

-
I loved the touch of water
Until the night when I cried helplessly
When you left me in the dark
Because you had works to do
But I was just a child
I needed you.

-
I used to stare at the blue endless sky
And compared the clouds to fluffy cotton balls
I dreamt, someday I'd make a castle on those clouds
I used to get lost in my thoughts and forget the homework you asked me to do
When I heard your footsteps down the stairs,
-
My legs trembled, my body shaking
And the sudden blow of a slap on my face
I stood there— numb, helpless.

You used to tell me
You scold because you love me.
But you never asked me to sit closer to you
You never scratched my head when I lie on your lap
-
You didn't know what my favourite colour was.
I read stories and imagined me in places of children,
Children who knew love, who used to brush their teeth before sleeping at night
While all I did before sleep was cry.

-
All that I see in movies
About parents kissing their child on the forehead,
I hoped I could get a parent like that.
Some of the days when I played on the terrace,
I used to get distracted by how far I was from the ground
On the second floor, I was, though.
-
When others would think about flying away to the clouds,
I thought about jumping off
Down to the road, among the cars.
When other kids dreamt about growing up,
I dreamt about escaping life.

If I knew what love is, I would have loved you the most.
