Imran Khan's false promises before/after elections regarding #Karachi and those times when IK as a PM should've visited Karachi but he deliberately ignored it.
1/n - Before calling out that IK and PTI can't do anything due to 18th amendment, here's what you need to know:

The PTI/Fed Govt had three possibilities to work in KHI

1- To maintain a working relationship with PPP, & deliver collectively.

2- To contribute to Karachi's...
2/n -
...Development solely through federal institutions such as: KPT, PQA, Pakistan Railways, Pakistan Public Works, SSGC and even Cantonment Boards.

The example of which can be found in other metropolis such as NYC, TOKYO and LONDON.

3- To collaborate with the local govt.
3/n:

Let's start from the election manifesto of PTI. The party's manifesto had a special portion for Karachi in its election manifesto under the Chapter 3 known as "Transform Karachi".

In its manifesto, PTI successfully claimed that if it makes to the govt it will launch a...
4/n:

...new city governance model 4 Khi that will empower the local bodies.

As of now more than 2 years have been passed 2 the PTI Government, & neither PTI gave any city governance model nor any developments schemes or reforms related 2 the local govt.
5/n:

Also despite the fact, that MQM who has the mayor of Karachi, is n ally of the fed govt, yet the PM didn't provide any development schemes or huge funds directly to the Local Govt to initiate any schemes. A pure failure of the Federal to collaborate with the local govt.
6/n:

DESALINATION PLANT

The next major point in the manifesto was to provide the clean & clear water to the residents of Karachi & solve their water problems through Desalination plant.

This issue also didn't get the eye of PM & PTI leaders at least in the past 2 years.
7/n:

Moreover campaigning on this issue, then PTI KARACHI Candidate now President of Pak Arif Alvi also presents a solution for water crisis in Karachi, which now seems to be forgotten.

@ArifAlvi
8/n:

MASS TRANSIT

Then comes the mass transit, PTI govt in its manifesto promised to provide karachi with a mass transit project, and public transport.

Where the reality is, the Green Line Project has now became a never ending project, a symbol of negligence of Fed/Prov govt.
9/n:

Inaugurated on Feb 2016, by then PM Nawaz Sharif, the Green Line Bus was expected to be completed and operational by the mid 2017, yet in last quarter of the year 2020, the completion of the project seems nowhere soon.

So when PTI failed to provide any other public...
10/n:

...transport service in Karachi in its first two years, it also puts the previous federal govt funded project of Green Line at snail's pace too.

And to put it straight, the 18th amendment existed at the time of preparation of Elections Manifesto.
11/n:

Coming in the election campaign in Khi, Imran Khan in his speech @ Lyari categorically denied that there is no need to make Karachi a separate province. We'll give a local bodies system to Karachi that will remove all its deprivations.

And after the 2 years of PTI...
12/n:

...Govt, one can imagine the reality of this claim.

Apart from the Water Crisis, Public Transport & collaboration with the Local Govt. PTI promised an effect solid waste management system too, which now seems to be forgotten too by their leaders.
13/n:

Question is Why can't the PM IK inaugurated any single project such as the Solid Waste Management or Water Desalination, in a way PM Nawaz Sharif initiated the Green Line Bus in its 2 years of govt?

When the fact is PMLN had 0 seats and PTI have 14 MNA's from KHI.
14/n :

After winning the General Elections 2018, in his second address to the nation (probably), PM imran Khan again mentioned the problems of Karachi, and described how he and his party will solve the issues of Karachi related to transport, sewerage and solid waste. For that...
15/n:

...he indicated the establishment of Karachi Committee that will eventually address the issues of the biggest metropolis of the city.

2 years to that, Imran Khan's this claim also turned out to be a false one.
16/n:

Yet again at the PM-CJP Dam fund raiser at Governor House Karachi, Imran Khan in his speech stated that we have got plans to start a Desalination plant for Karachi and rapid up the project K-IV to solve the water crisis of Karachi.

*The same even where Karachiites...
17/n:

...raised almost 1 Billion rupees for the dam fund.

Yet after that, no-follow up was given about what progress have been made to these claims.

THE KARACHI PACKAGE

On his visit to Karachi in March 2019, Imran Khan presided the meeting at Governor House and announced a special Karachi Package of Rs. 162 Billion to help improve the transport and other civic issues of the metropolis. http://tribune.com.pk/story/1940395/pm-imran-announces-rs162b-development-package-karachi
19/n:

With the deteriorating infrastructure and with dilapidated situation, Karachi is still waiting for that development package which IK promised year and half ago.

A question that will keep haunting IK and PTI member in the upcoming years. https://tribune.com.pk/story/1628082/no-progress-made-development-package-karachi-announced-centre
20/n:

THE MYSTERIOUS KARACHI COMMITTEE

Upon heavy rainfalls in Karachi last year in August, PM khan tweeted that time too on the casualties of rainfalls, he indicated that the federal govt is coming up with the special package & a comittee of MNA 's to resolve the issues.
22/n:

CHERRY ON TOP

Last month ago, the PM again couldn't bear the pain of Karachi and directly ordered the NDMA & FWO to reach Karachi & start the cleaning of Nullahs with unlimitied funds.

And surprisingly, yet with the efforts of federal institutions the nullahs of Karachi
23/n:

...e.g (Gujjar Nullah, Manzoor Colony Nullah) still overflowed.

If this was the ultimate fate of Karachiites, then for what betterment did NDMA and Fwo arrived in karachi?
24/n: The thread is still incomplete, a major part of it is still remaining which I try to compile 2morrow.

In that part, I'll try 2 define how much times does r PM visited Khi, & how blatantly did he ignored Khi or not preferred 2 visit this metropolis despite heavy tragedies.
