I'm sort of glad that libs are getting the unhinged freakout over a few bad polls out of their systems now so that, when it inevitably happens again a few more times before November, they're a bit calmer.
That isn't to say Biden is going to win, or you should be lazy complacent about it. It's saying that however likely Biden was to win a month ago, he's, more or less, still there and, absent some huge events, he will likely be there in a month and two months too.
The polling may be systematically off and, when combined with Trump's electoral college advantage, Biden may lose with his current margin.
But none of the underlying dynamics of the race, good or bad, have changed. Conventions are pure noise. Ignore them.

Trump is going to give more speeches. He's going to pull stunts. His supporters are going to do crazy shit. You know this.
And every media source is going to tell you "This is the moment he became presidential" or "This changes everything!"
But he didn't and it doesn't.

I didn't watch the conventions for this reason--they couldn't tell me anything I didn't already know and would just involve me listening to people lie to me to my face--and I probably won't watch the debates, for the first time in my adult life, for similar reasons.
At the end of the day, an advantage of rejecting myopic electoralism isn't just about recognizing the vastly broader context of the political in the US; it also means being able to opt out of the very bad theater of American politics without feeling like you're missing anything.
At this point, people who are "into politics" are behaving like the dejected fans of a permanently bad team playing a stupid sport that no one enjoys any more:
"We have to cheer for someone!"
Maybe. But you don't actually have to *watch* the Bengals, friend.
Go take a walk.
