Thousands of people (including serious academics) are following what seems to be a Turkish nationalist troll account using what seems to be an image of Mexican model Paula Nuñez as their profile photo.

The account (like most troll accounts) posts non-stop militaristic tweets praising the Turkish government and military assertiveness. The interesting thing about it is how many serious people seem to take it seriously.

If I am wrong, and there is a German Paula which has an uncanny resemblance to the Mexican Paula, I will be shocked but delighted at finding their doppelganger so easily.

In an update of sorts, I am of course not the first person to doubt the credentials of this account and @cheja (all the way back in February) wrote a thread where she illustrated who might well be behind the account. https://twitter.com/cheja/status/1223717471200456708?s=19
