a thread on ultrasabers and why i don’t think you should buy a lightsaber from them if you’re looking for one:
now before i start i just wanted to let you know i’m not the boss of you and you’re responsible for your own money. however, this is going to be my personal opinion and based off my own experience, so if you don’t agree please don’t be mean about it!!
so for the last, maybe year and a half?, i’ve wanted a lightsaber. however in january i got tiktok and my need for a lightsaber was propelled because of all the tiktoks of people doing lightsaber tricks!
i definitely had my eye on an ultrasabers lightsaber. from what i had heard, they were the best in the market. customisable, good quality and good for dueling too if you wanted to pay the extra cash.
it was around april? and my birthday was coming up in july. ultrasabers, i think, is based in america so my mother (with the help of my little sister who also was getting on) decided it would be best to buy them early so they arrived in time for my birthday!!
we customised our lightsabers and bought them. my sister ordered a yellow saber and i ordered a pink one!!
it was reaching july, and we still hadn’t heard ANYTHING about our sabers. when we purchased the sabers they told us they would give us a tracking number once the order had been processed. however, we had nothing
i was holding my breath because
1: they’re in america and we’re in australia
2. they probably get lots of orders and they make a lot of sabers
3. the coronavirus has hit america hard and i was completely understanding of that
however, these sabers were for my birthday and we wanted to know at least how long we were waiting for these sabers.
we sent emails, we woke up at 5-6am just to call them because of timezones, and we heard NOTHING BACK. absolute radio silence. no emails were being responded to, the phone was being left unattended even when they were open, and i was starting to lose hope.
i finally did the proper research i should have done beforehand, and not only did i find out they were notorious for not responding to emails and calls and leaving you with nothing, but there were also countless cases of ppl not having their lightsabers for MONTHS
there had been so many countless cases where people had said there saber just appeared one day after months of radio silence, when they had already given up. most people still haven’t received their lightsabers til this day.
in the past, i’m sure it was better. people have said how the last year and a half ultrasabers has only gotten worse, and i feel like an absolute fool for trusting them
i bought the lightsabers in late april. we spent $550AUD on them. we’ve heard nothing from them and although we’ve asked for a chargeback, i’m not even sure if we’ll get the money back.
i’ve seen a lot of people on here talking about how they want a lightsaber from ultrasabers, BUT PLEASE!!!! do your research and consider your options.
i’m not the only person who has had a bad experience of them, and i definitely don’t want anybody to go through what i’m going through. i’m truly upset and disgusted by the terrible customer service and the lightsaber was the one thing i was looking forward to for my bday
