Morning errand: Did a MAJOR book purge last night of all the books I keep thinking I'm gonna read and haven't for 2+ years. #TakomaPark's Little Free Libraries are now full. Have at it, townsfolk!
There will be a cookbook purge next weekend, I think. Gonna edit the collection (I have 1,000+). Some will sell on eBay (or maybe here for charity), and others will go to Little Free Libraries or a giveaway.
I haven't done a major cookbook purge since my celiac diagnosis 12 years ago, so I think I can finally get rid of the baking books that torture me from the shelves. ;)
Oy, and all the books from my Master's in Management and Leadership program. Those need to find new homes.
I would like to have a month off work (fully paid, ha ha ha) so that I can do all the housekeeping projects that have been on my to-do list for the past few years.
Did a major purge/declutter/throw-away sesh of my linen closet, bathroom, makeup, skincare yesterday. 7yo neighbor girl was SO HAPPY to get a bag full of hair and makeup things and pink soaps and the like this morning. Why did I own 3 sequined headbands? Who the hell knows.
Back in March, I packed away all my work dresses and good shoes, and now I feel like I might need to Poshmark/Mercari all of it and start fresh with far fewer things.
Another thing I have to do is confront my "problem" of buying paper goods (notebooks, pads of paper, pens, pencils, etc.). I love buying these things, but it's getting a little overwhelming. Might have to start putting those things in Little Free Libraries, too.
Or, put together little gift bags for friends and do some socially distanced drop-offs.
I always tell myself, "I'll use this stationery/these notecards ... I'll write letters to friends and be a Lady of the Past" and it never happens. So, need to edit that collection, as well.
Not sure why I'm blabbering on about this on Twitter instead of making a to-do list or just, I don't know, ACTUALLY DOING IT, but #onbrand.
UPDATE: I went through all my stationery and am getting rid of 50% of it. Putting note cards and greeting cards in cellophane bags and stocking them in Little Free Libraries when I walk the dogs later today. Keeping 30% of it, and using remaining 20% to send notes to friends. :)
