"Do you have sex? How often?"

The government& #39;s asking you. Also, CASTE. Religion. Sexual orientation. Political beliefs!

Believe it or not, this may become India& #39;s #HealthDataPolicy next week. Has all the looks of another commercial phishing venture.

Yes, some of those data points can be related to health indices in serious ways. Map nutritional profiles against caste, for instance, and you& #39;ll know.

(There are also other ways in which each of those has a rather urgent bearing on health...you could simply get lynched.)
But with a regime that has fetishised data collection seemingly as an end in itself, a slight absence of credulity is natural. Of course, it& #39;s not an end in itself. "Data is the new oil," remember?

Btw, it& #39;s reasonable to wonder what good Aarogya Setu did.
Is there ever such a thing as judging a data collection enterprise by its intended policy outcomes? Apart from beating Pokemon Go?
