Namjoon's early impression of Jin was of a cool, kind, calm, self-assured and astute person.

And that impression continued to evolve through the years. When Namjoon was asked to say one word BTS members for spending their beautiful youth with him, he chose Jin to "thank him for letting him know the other world" - Program Book Youth HYYH (2015)

Not a surprise, because Namjoon has always found comfort in Jin's attitude towards life.

One such time being the Wings tour. It was a very stressful time for BTS and of course as a leader, Namjoon would have had many worries. But throughout this, he was able to seek comfort in the ever dependable Seokjin.

So its no surprise that when their first big brush with the american red carpets came, he once again asked Jin to stay next to him, and stay Jin did.

Jin is always someone Joon seeks out during key milestones.

To comfort him, to anchor him.

Whether it be award show wins or important concerts.

So many years later, despite being the sunbae group with many firsts in the bag, every "first" and every history made means Namjin looking for each other.

Namjoon has always been vocal about Jin's influence on him and how much he changed him.

But this understanding was built through long talks and effort on both their parts. Namjoon the ambitious leader, always setting goals & striving for their success. And Jin, their anchor & independent thinker, one who keeps them from drowning or getting adrift in tough times.

Disagreements are only normal between two strong and self-assured individuals. But Namjin's long chats at cafes and time taken out to invest in each other shows their maturity & willingness to accept people different to them.

Whether joking or serious, Namjoon is always consistent about how he perceives Jin - "A Pacifist", calm, confident, self-assured.

So many years later, Namjoon continues to be vocal about how much he learns from Jin.

To the point that Namjoon was so inspired by Jin's philosphy that he ended up using it in his now iconic "use me" ment.

To the point that he referenced to Jin's "the only person who should know your efforts is yourself" words from 2015 in his lyrics for All night and even acknowledged it on weverse by commenting "Best hyung" on a post pointing it out.

He remembers all of Jin's words and using Jin's own iconic lines back on him. Their noodle dates were clearly special to him.
PS: Can't find proof but once Jin said in an interview that actors have a unique aura that can't be imitated and he wants to build that for himself.

He also cherishes all the hard work Jin put into taking care of BTS as the hyung despite being the maknae of his family. Namjoon acknowledged it on weverse by commenting "I respect you(to jin)" on a long post talking about this.

Jin clearly inspires him to the point that despite being a voracious reader himself, Namjoon once again decided to pick up the books he was slacking on upon seeing Jin read. Their relationship is not limited to big things and extends to the little things.

While Jin may have felt the need to take a step back on the authority front to avoid imposing and to allow Joon's leadership to blossom, Namjoon for his part has always, always cherished Jin's mathyung role, his thoughts and actions.

Joon's love and respect for him extends to not just his thoughts but also his talent. He sees Jin for the rare gem that he is.

Whether its his appreciation's for Jin's ability to convey emotions like no other in Epiphany and Tonight or his ability to get standing ovation.

Whether its praising his ability to compose a song like Moon in such a high key or acknowledging that despite seeming fine on the outside as BTS Jin, Kim Seokjin also struggles on the inside. Namjoon never fails to give us an insight into the closed book that Kim Seokjin can be.

No matter how many years pass, Seokjinnie will always remain the most handsome man in Namjoon's eyes.

From debut till now, his hyung is perfect in all ways and can never do any wrong

And because he is so perfect, his Jin hyung deserves only the most unique compliments and comparisons that he can think of.

From starting out with opposite set of values, to getting influenced and changing for each other, to now being best friends, comedians and silly together. This is the kind of relationship and friendship one needs to right books about.

Oh to have a friendship like theirs, filled with intellectual conversations and unlimited inside jokes. I love my Namjin The best leader and mathyung combo to ever exist.
