it is in everyone's best interest to repel the enemy at the gates, even if they're not YOUR gates.

individualizing and atomizing a community response is exactly what these thugs want.

they will claim it immoral for you to protect your neighbor, because that reduces what they go up against.

i think MORE people need to go out and protect others' property, especially if they're incapable of doing it themselves.
