Another THREAD on the #Messigate

Messi hasnt gone to the PCR tests this morning. As he said in his recorded delivery of the 25th Aug, he isnt a FCB player anymore. He wont go to training tomorrow. In his eyes, and legally, he thinks he is in the right and a FREE PLAYER right now

So he is not at war with the club, he is simply not a FCB player anymore after using his rights as mentioned in his contract. But would still like a friendly exit agreement

Bartomeu would be willing to seat down with Jorge Messi next week but only to renew Leo’s contract

Barcelona insists that the €700m euros buy out clause remains, that the contract in place is exactly the same as last season. With the same condicions, the same buy out clause. No clause changes that. And the president will not seat with Messi unless it is to renew his contract

Two options from here. If the €700m buy out clause is not applicable for the 20/21 season (as per @siquerodriguez), Leo can insist in going for free (but would prefer to negotiate something). Or...

... secondly if Barcelona does not want to talk, then he could tore up the contract and accept the club would could take him to court for unlawful breach of contract. If that is the case, the judge could award a penalty much lower than the €700m, perhaps two figures

FIFA meanwhile would give the international transfer clearance for Leo to move to another country and club, and play straight away. The question is, would City, PSG, Juve, Inter risk the potential of a penalty much higher than that?

It could be millions but two figures, so likely much less than €100, which they could all afford and that means they would all be back with a chance to get him (City still at the forefront), but in court, strang things have happened. It is a delicate step for any club
