I just woke up from a nap/sleep, and heard the news about what happened in Downtown Portland tonight. I'm trying to avoid drawing conclusions based on early and contradictory evidence. But I do want to point out a few things that may or may not have been before. Days ago we had a
double homicide in Kenosha of a pro-cop militia person shooting two protesters. We had a massive pro-Trump/cop rally that went off the planned route to roll through town. They appeared to, in general, not care about civilian life, running through pedestrian traffic in a way that
protesters downtown have dealt with at least 2-3 times in previous months. These people were attacking protesters on the ground with pepperballs and mace from moving vehicles (at least the cops are on foot when they brutalize us).

In general this is a massive escalation of force
that was disproportionate in force to anything protesters have been doing.

Additionally, it seems strange that the police say today in their press release that officers "heard" gunfire from 3rd and Alder, yet two weeks ago they knew nothing about the gunfire from a parking
garage two blocks away from their downtown headquarters. What's the difference in the alleged shooters? Two weeks ago it was a pro-cop protester.

Cops have helped coordinate actions of pro-cop protesters, while steadfastly ignoring the legitimate existence of anti-cop
protesters. Cops are beating and macing dozens of protesters nightly, while their medics refuse to treat anyone, then whine and complain about being hit with paint and rocks. Cops declare riots and unlawful assemblies against anti-cop protests, while say 'we don't have the
manpower' to detain people with known warrants that walk right past them from a pro-cop protest.

There are two kinds of justice in this country. And the line is literally black and white. That is why these protests continue. And Portland has a body count tonight.
