There’s a culture of abuse in Toronto and it doesn’t allow for predatory men to be reprimanded when men AND women go out their way to protect the abuser and often alienate the survivor, especially if they are friends or associated with the abuser.

Over the years, I’ve had countless men and women come in my DM’s and tell me to delete tweets where I stood in solidarity with the woman (no questions asked) and offered to give me the “real” story instead. So pardon me if I think most things are performative.

It goes from “it’s none of my business to address it” real quick when its someone you don’t like and then people breathe a sigh of relief, because for these next moments, they don’t have to address or acknowledge that their friend(s) are exactly who people say they are.

Just some observations. I’m wishing healing to the victims and survivors and the victims and survivors ONLY.
