⚠️Backlink comparison between @Moz, @ahrefs, @sistrix, @semrush, and @Majestic based on 100 large European🇪🇺 domains. Thread!⚠️
1/10
I recently compared backlink data for 100 large US🇺🇸 domains. Now I did the same for 34 large domains from Germany🇩🇪 and 33 each from the UK🇬🇧 and France🇫🇷. These are the results:
2/10
When it comes to the number of referring domains, @Moz is clearly in the lead. On average, Moz finds 98% of whatever is the maximum for each domain across all tools.🔥
3/10
@ahrefs, @sistrix, and @semrush are doing quite good as well with 70% to 74%.

@Majestic is a bit worse with 59%. :-(

4/10
The correlation for domain-pop is very high with values between 0.94 and 0.99 amongst all tools.

This means that all tools will give similar impressions and trends when comparing multiple domains.

5/10
For the sheer number of links, @ahrefs is the clear winner at 70% - followed by @Moz and @semrush at around 63% each.

@sistrix drops all the way to the bottom with 20% - a sign of very efficient crawling that prioritizes domain-popularity over link-popularity.🤓

6/10
When ignoring @ahrefs, backlink counts are correlated with 0.79 to 0.93 amongst all other tools.

With ahrefs, there is basically no correlation to what the other tools are reporting.😕

7/10
With the PageRank Replacement Scores, there is a lot of agreement between Domain Authority (DA) from Moz, Authority Score (AS) from SEMrush and Domain Rating (DR) from ahrefs.

Citation Flow from Majestic is all over the place.
