So I'll start from the beginning. This guy and I shared a common friend group, 3 of them were a year above me and the the other 3 (myself included) were batchmates

We were very awkward with each other, I only ever spoke to 1 of the 3 (which happened to be my uncle's nephew)

So I'll skip the other stuff, fast forward a year and the awkwardness 'disappeared' kind of.

He was very friendly and kind in all honesty, props to him for that. He'd greet me in the hallways all the time, lend me his old notes and stuff like that. He instantly became one of my+

I actually still have his notebooks, binders, textbooks and notes with me, I'm planning to dispose of them soon though.

So my feelings all started to develop when he asked me to accompany him to anime conventions (though I'd always go home earlier)

So yeah, we'd go on casually and friendly outings together may it be only us or with our other friends. :P

Fast forward another year, I confessed to him after (two-ish) years of having a crush on him. I confessed a night after my bday??

We became a thing after we went to a IV of Spades concert, it was a sweet and wholesome moment

He'd always bring me home after school, we'd eat dinner on the way home too since there were restaurants close to our school (it was nice tbh)

Things started to go down hill not even a month in, he told me he still had feelings for the other girl (girl A in this story) in our previous friend group ( hurt like a bitch)

So i told him we're not continuing whatever this is if he still had feelings for her.

We basically were on and off for a year haha, red flag :)

He had numerous red flags alrdy tho but I'll get to that later.

So we were 16? Months in and he just went completely cold. Like, he'd purposefully leave me behind in school, even though we'd agree on going home together

It broke my heart because I gave up a lot for him, to the point I fought with my mom for weeks just to get her approval. (i regret that so much)

Anywho, I (and my friends) would always find him with Girl A but I trusted him, he told me they were friends and I trusted him.

Anyway we broke up after our preprom party because I couldn't take the way he was acting he'd snap at me at completely random times and for no reason at all. One minute he's ok and the next he ignores me for days straight. I was fed up.

(i asked him to be my prom date weeks earlier btw, before the falling out and I already had my gown made and expenses were paid by my dad which totaled at around 7k?)

He was still my escort because I'm a clown and I'm still mad at myself for that.

We were (somewhat) back together then btw (we agreed that maybe things will go back to the way they were before our falling out by the time prom goes by)

But he was cold and so was I, I felt nothing anymore and I was just hurting myself

I couldn't let go of what we had because I thought that all my time, effort and feelings of over a year would just go to waste like a clown that I am

Knee ways I talked to him after practices ended completely, I told him that if he's tired of me he can go and not just freely see someone behind my back.

He asked how i knew and said sorry for seeing someone.

Bonus story;

I had to learn a new dance because I changed my escort and that asshole came and watched the entire thing. At that point my feet had blisters because I had to dance in stilettos for 3 hours straight and eventually barefoot for another hour. I couldn't walk properly+
