Vamana is part of the story and he has a birthday. Nobody needs these silly "proofs" for that. The resistance is against hijacking the popular narrative where King Maveli is celebrated and presenting an alternate one where Vamana is.

The Onam vs Vamana Jayanti debate is about the perspective from which the story is told and which icon is being celebrated. Keralites who celebrate King Maveli and his homecoming will resist attempts to brahmanise Onam by moving the focus on to Vamana.
