A student asks me if shisha is allowed or not

I take the view of large group of scholars that it's not allowed as it harms your body

He tells his 3am college student whatsapp group & some say:

"yo you don’t have to defer to a Shaykh on all matters"

Justify anything you desire
People really think faith and islamic law functions kind of like a salad bar:

You pick and make the salad you want

:)

If someone's struggling with something admit the struggle

Focus on spirituality and priorities

But dont change faith to fit your desires.
If a faith isnt guiding you to leave vices, elevate your character & manners, give you guidance in your lifestyle, and navigate your relationships... Then what is that faith for?

Getting high on feel good and spirituality isnt only faith.

Practice and improvement is.
I rather be the one that motivates change with gentle empathy, genuine care, advises against someone's stubborn ego for what's best for their world and hereafter, than ever be someone that stays silent & validate friends while they're harming themselves spiritually or emotionally
Re evaluate friends that stay silently happy at your sins while you're spiritually miserable.

A friend is one that first is best for your hereafter, not just one that is a companion in indulgence of materialism.

Someone that elevates you, not tells you what you want to hear.
