Tested positive for #COVIDー19 3 weeks back. I and my father have finally fully recovered. And I wanted to share a few things from my experience.
.) COVID-19 is powerful. My father had been sick for almost 21 days and was at his worst on his 7th/8th day. I had fever for 3 days and severe fatigue for like 10 days which wouldn’t even let me move. It breaks you from inside, especially the elderly.
.) It’s different for everyone. My father had severe symptoms. I had medium to mild symptoms and my mother showed zero symptoms except for being sick for only a couple of days.
.) After I got tested and told my friends and relatives about that, the first thing few of them asked was “WHY DID YOU GET TESTED” or “Don’t tell anyone about it because your neighbors will judge you?!?
.) ITS A FUCKING PANDEMIC AND ANYONE AND EVERYONE CAN GET AFFECTED. If you feel any symptoms, you should get tested without delay. (And isolate yourself ofc). Society has always been stupid and continues to do so.
.) Coronavirus is exhausting for your body and if that’s not enough, it takes a huge toll on your mental health too. Because you’ve seen so much on the news and read so much about it, you can’t help but think about what if....
.) Also, It’s easy to say isolate yourself but it’s just so fucking difficult not to be able to close to your family members for at least 14 days if not more. To not be able to get out of your room, let alone house.
.) You don’t feel like eating nothing. Like it is everytime you’re sick but you also lose your taste in this case so wanting to eat becomes even a tougher task. (Nonetheless, EAT A LOT.)
.) If you do get infected, there’s probably nothing to worry about if you don’t have an underlying condition. You’ll be alright. It’s difficult but you’ll get through it easily if you stay positive and keep yourself strong mentally.
.) You will get other tests done and the lab guy might/will tell you that it’s just typhoid or something. It’s not. So many people in my circle who are sick tell me they’ve typhoid. It’s not, its COVID-19.
.) Don’t be afraid of testing. Don’t be afraid of telling people close to you that you’re infected. Don’t be afraid of corona. Own it up and fight it with your full strength. You’re stronger than the virus.
.) When I was sick, I had a lot going on in my head and it helped to talk to someone who’s been through it. And this is why I’ve put this thread out here. If you or anyone you know has any questions about it, I’ll be more than willing to help. Stay safe
