hi guys so what about the idea of hinata getting a fever when atshn r living together and it’s the first time either of them has fallen sick and atsumu WORRIES a lot but it’s okay he’s used to this he’s taken care of samu when he’s sick before he can do it
and at first atsumu doesnt notice bc yeah sometimes hinata skips hisbmorning run so they can cuddle but when he wakes up hinata is still pressed against his side, warm like usual but when he Really looks he sees hinata’s face flushed and he’s sweating A Lot so he’s like Oh fuck
immediately he jumps out of bed and presses a hand against hinata’s forehead and his heart is seriously abt to fall out of his mouth so he tells shouyou to wait a bit okay don’t move and hinata can only mumble out a small yes and oh man it rly breaks atsumu to see him like thsi
the last time he saw hinata down with a fever was from behind a railing looking down at him but now that he’s really seeing him. face to face and up close he’s . well he’s Scared which is silly bc he’s not the one with a fever but STILL.!!!! so he grabs a bucket of water
nd a towel and slaps it onto hinata’s forehead before rushing out of the room in sesrch for their fever medicine and some water which he makes hinata drink in sips and he’s doing things on instinct alone so he doesn’t panic or stop until hinata is resting in bed with the towel on
his forehead . after that he calls up samu and asks him for a good old porridge recipe so he can make something for shouyou to eat since he needs something in his tummy before swallowing the pills and thankfully they have all the necesssry ingredients to make it have some sort of
flavor and porridge is easier than he thinks anyway (again, been there done that before when they were kids) and he’s just about to transfer the porridge into a bowl when he hears a loud crash coming from the bedroom so ofc he rushes in (it takes him 3 strides instead of the
normal 5) and he sees hinata on the . bedroom floor with the blanket wrapped around his legs and he looks. so frustrated and IT MIRROS the emotion back at nationals AND SHIT atsumu is like hey hey hey it’s okay shouyou come on let’s get back omto bed why did you roll out?
except hinata is crying n ah atsumu gets it so he carries hinata back and adjusts the blanket makes sure he’s laying on the pillow correctly before wiping away the tears and he says, “shouyou, we’re at home, okay? you’re fine, it’s okay, you’re strong.” and hinata just nods
bc yes! he’s strong!!! he should be over it and Yet when he gets a fever for the first time in a while he can’t help but get reminded of that match which is probably stupid which he accidentally says out loud until atsumu frowns and reminds him that it’s Not stupid you know?
he manages to calm hinata down and soaks his towel in water once more since it’s dried up and warm again before rubbing his cheek with his thumb and hinata leans into atsumu’s touch bc it’s Nice and atsumu just Smiles before getting up to grab the Porridge bc he forhot abt it
and he feeds hinata even though he insists that he can eat it just fine but atsumu is like “cmon let me spoil you for once” and hinata can’t say No to his boyfriend so he’s like fine !! and maybe hinata does like being taken care of bc he’s spent so much time caring for himself
nd it’s admittedly. it feels good to have someone pay so much attention to him n show him this much affection GAHHJFKDHEHFJE so yeah :) when the food n medicine are down and in hinata he nods back asleep and atsumu cleans up updating osamu to say that shouyou’s fever is going
down so he should be fine No you don’t have to come over what the heck!! and bc he missed practice he has to inform coach and the team abt it and their gc is spammed with ‘gws hinata!!!!’ etc bc hinata is very very loved and atsumu cant help but grin at his phone as if he’s the
receipent of all those texts but he still gets scolded for not attending practice which he Does get away with anyway after that as the sun begins to set atsumu doesn’t have anything to do other than look after hinata so he ends up falling asleep too while sitting on the floor
beside their bed and hinata wakes up just as the sky turns dark to see his hand held tightly in atsumu’s own so he smiles because Ah...... ah.... he’s home, not on court all those years ago and he has atsumu he’s okay. he’s really okay and his fever has gone down too so yay
hinata thanks atsumu with a bunch of kisses the next day for taking care of him n atsumu is just like HAHA! what r u talking abt u dontneedd to thank me for something so trivial ofc i’ll take care of u (he blushes at his own words) but accepts the kisses :] love wins

flashback for a minute to the part with atsumu on the floor resting his head on the bed bc when he wakes up he sees hinata smiling at him and he’s like “oh shouyou, you’re feeling b-“ “i love you, atsumu-san” and . atsumu is just like. hm wh huh what? not even
thinking abt how hinata cut him off because he pinches himself and goes ok i’m not dreaming. and hinata looks at his odd behavior and laughs, “atsumu-san, did you catch my fever?” and atsumu is still staring blankly at hinata like. . woah. that’s my god i think...
until atsumu clears his throat and is like WELL SHOUYOU-KUN! you already know i feel (trying to play it cool) and hinata thinks about gentle touches against his face and the vague feeling of his towel getting changed every now and then and the hand in his own and yeah, he knows
