Mini-thread as to why Barca needs to let Messi go:

He doesn’t want to play for us anymore, so respect his decision

Barcelona desperately needs money to rebuild and we’d get 100+ million for him atm

We rely too much on Messi, and that’s something that will be costly when Messi quits Barca. We’re in desperate need of rebuild and everything will just result in Messi doing everything if he won’t be allowed to leave

Also you can’t force someone to play for your club against your will as seen with Gareth Bale and Real Madrid. If Messi wants to go, he should be allowed to in a good manner
