Children aren’t just innocent they are impressionable. The boy who wants to become a teacher is inspired by his favorite teacher, Aunty Hilda.

So bad that Aunty Hilda once fell sick these children donated N10 each to buy a bag of pure water, visited her to keep her company.
During the lockdown when schools moved digital, IDP children were completely shut out.

Aunty Hilda found a way to gather past question papers to give them so they can prepare for JSCE. She couldn’t continue visiting them in the camp.
Listening to one of the children read, I am reminded that we all need an Aunty Hilda to believe in us.

Someone who won’t judge us by our current situation. I broke down in tears when I got a chance to speak with this kind teacher for her dedication to these IDP children.
My She-roe is Aunty Hilda. When one of them isn’t in class, she marches to the community to ask questions.

If she finds the child at home, she drags he/she back to classroom threatening to report the parents to the State Govt.
On this beautiful new day, I am saying a prayer for her. May her energy not dwindle. God bless her.

Before we left, we connected an NGO to school. They will be supporting the girls with sanitary towels and more, since Aunty use to buy them for her class girls from her pocket.
