Why Arsenal are on the right track a thread under Mikel Arteta's management, a thread -

Arteta was appointed on Dec 22,2019. Those were the days when experts believed that Arsenal's squad is so so miserable that they can't be improved. And,tbh, the results definitely supported those arguments. Luiz and Mustafi were just so average and Arsenal conceded for fun.

Since Arteta's first game in-charge, Arsenal have conceded 27 goals in 29 matches with an average of 0.93 Goals Conceded per game. Now, why this is interesting is because Arsenal used to have an average of 1.58 Goals conceded per match. That is a huge huge improvement.

Now, what makes it even better is that Arteta has had the same squad to inherit with no new players. He improved our defense with Luiz and Mustafi. Yes. Those players were improved under Arteta's system. For Arsenal, the system was not clear under Arteta's predecessor.

Arteta definitely has a plan. But, the bigger challenge was to convey the same and implement on these Arsenal players. And, results show that he has been fantastic with his ideas and communication.

Arsenal are now averaging 1.92 points per match under Arteta. That is an amazing achievement considering Arsenal were just averaging 1.8 points per match under Emery who was in charge for 78 matches at Arsenal.

Unai Emery's win percentage was 55 percent at Arsenal. Arteta's win percentage is 59 percent Arteta. Now, these stats need to be read with more respect because Arteta did everything with the same set of players.

And, Arteta does have the results to show for his great work. Arsenal already have won 2 trophies in just 8 months under Mikel Arteta. They are in Europa League too. And, most importantly, Arteta is getting his players now with a specific and strategic transfer plan.

Willian signed for free. Saliba already back. Gabriel signed pending announcement and linked to top players like Partey, Coutinho and Aourar. This is progress and this is the track. He has his goals set and more importantly, he has his players belief in him.

Arsenal are still building. And, I don't expect Arsenal to win the league this year. But, they are not far. Proper planning and strategy can work out wonders with combined patience. Arteta needs full backing from the club when it comes to transfers.

But, it is very very exciting time to be an Arsenal supporter. Of course, the gameplay is slow and a little defensive, but Arteta did what was required with the current set of players. Now, he transfer listed a load of players and probably he will get his type of players soon.
